The Way of the Chilli
Chilies and other hot stuff in aid of Stallcombe HouseGreg Towning is a very talented individual. His keen interest as well as skill in brewing led to the creation of Topsham Ales, Topsham’s former community micro-brewery (sadly Topsham Ales stopped brewing in 2017). Greg’s work at Stallcombe House, a residential centre for adults with learning difficulty, allows him to indulge in one of his other passions: growing things. Greg has green fingers and delights in growing a bewildering range of chillies, ranging from the mild to the blow-your-head-off hot. He furthermore creates sauces, flavoured vinegars (made with his own cider vinegar from cider brewed himself from organic apples grown on the Stallcombe estate), sells chilli plants and more, with all proceeds directed back to Stallcombe House.
